Esercito Italiano: IL “SISTEMA SOLDATO SICURO”


Dalla sinergia tra industria nazionale e l’Esercito Italiano è stato messo a punto il “Sistema Soldato Sicuro”, cioè un vero e proprio sistema d’arma integrato con al centro il soldato, a cui viene garantita la migliore protezione, nonché l’incremento delle capacità di sopravvivenza, comando e controllo, mobilità notturna, letalità.  Il sistema consente, tramite i dispositivi di C2 digitalizzati, l’impiego interforze della piattaforma, assicurando la massima operatività in tutti gli scenari, dal combattimento al supporto alla popolazione, rimanendo sempre “connesso” all’architettura net-centrica.

IL SISTEMA DI PUNTAMENTO INDIVIDUALE “MIRA 640”

Definito inizialmente come ICWS (Individual Combat Weapon System), è la capacità volta allo sviluppo di 3 dispositivi idonei alla funzione di designazione, puntamento e ingaggio di un obiettivo in ogni condizione di visibilità (diurna e notturna). Pertanto, tali sistemi sono: ottica diurna, sistema di puntamento a punto rosso (visibile/infrarosso) e camera termica.

IL VESTIARIO

Il vestiario del Soldato Sicuro è costituito da diversi pacchetti che garantiscono un adeguata protezione nelle diverse situazione climatiche ed operative. I capi sono studiati con materiali leggeri, traspiranti e anti umidità che migliorano il comfort. Gli indumenti sono distribuiti nella versione “base” e nella versione “Flame Resistant”.

L’ELMETTO DI PROTEZIONE 

L’elmetto balistico garantisce la protezione della fronte, della regione temporale, della nuca e delle orecchie.  Assicura inoltre un'ottima visibilità periferica e l’indossabilità per un lungo periodo di tempo.  I rigonfiamenti delle zone auricolari, con gli spigoli arrotondati, forniscono la necessaria rigidità laterale ed un naturale alloggiamento per le cuffie dei sistemi di comunicazione.

IL GIUBBETTO ANTIPROIETTILE

Il giubbetto assicura la protezione del soldato ed è indossabile con facilità al di sopra dell'uniforme di servizio e combattimento. Grazie alle diverse possibilità di regolazione, assicura la libertà di movimento e l’impiego in modo efficace delle armi individuali e di reparto.  Al fine di consentire un’agevole e rapida rimozione del manufatto nel caso di primo soccorso ed evacuazione dei feriti, il giubbetto è dotato di un dispositivo che consente la scomposizione rapida (quick release) e la successiva ricomposizione.

LA RADIO “SDR”

La SDR HH EVO in dotazione ai reparti della Forza Armata è una radio multibanda basata su tecnologia Software Defined Radio in grado di fornire servizi voce e dati sicuri idonei a soddisfare stringenti requisiti operativi.)

IL SISTEMA INDIVIDUALE PER LA VISIONE NOTTURNA “TM-NVG”

Il TM-NVG (Tactical Mobility-Night Vision Goggle) è un sistema binoculare di visione notturna ad Intensificazione di Luce (IL) ad elevate prestazioni, che consente la mobilità del soldato in condizioni operative estreme.).

IL FUCILE BERETTA  ARX 200 cal. 7,62 x 51 NATO

Il fucile ARX 200 è un sistema d’arma di nuova generazione che offre performance balistiche elevate ed il suo impiego è rivolto a tiratori esperti. La carcassa del fucile, in alluminio anodizzato e sovrastampata con tecnopolimero nella parte centrale e posteriore, offre caratteristiche di robustezza, leggerezza ed ergonomia, mirate a favorire l’handling e le posizioni di tiro specifiche per l’impiego a lunga distanza. L’arma è integrata dall’ottica ICS (Innovative Combat Sight) STEINER che consente il calcolo automatico del punto di impatto con compensazione balistica in funzione della distanza del bersaglio e del munizionamento utilizzato.

IL FUCILE BERETTA  ARX 160 A1 e A3

Il fucile BERETTA ARX 160 A1 e A3 cal. 5,56 mm è stato sviluppato nell’ambito di uno specifico programma di ammodernamento, al fine di dotare il combattente di un’arma di nuova generazione più performante di quella in servizio (BERETTA 70/90). Il fucile (con struttura in polimero) è estremamente maneggevole, leggero e compatto, completamente ambi-destro mediante semplici operazioni che lo stesso tiratore può effettuare. Il calciolo telescopico, regolabile su quattro diverse posizioni, consente di adattare l’arma alle esigenze di ogni singolo operatore, mentre le 4 slitte Picatinny posizionate sull’affusto garantiscono la possibilità di innestare facilmente qualsiasi apparato/sistema di puntamento diurno e notturno (laser, ottico, flash light).  Nell’ambito della II fase di Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E) del Programma Forza NEC, la soc. BERETTA ha ulteriormente sviluppato il fucile d’assalto ARX 160, apportando all’arma una serie di modifiche e migliorie tese a recepire le richieste degli operatori. Da tale attività nasce la versione A3 del fucile.

IL SISTEMA DI SORVEGLIANZA DEL CAMPO DI BATTAGLIA

Il radar “Arthur” (Artillery Hunting Radar) è un sistema in grado di garantire le capacità di ricerca, individuazione e identificazione delle sorgenti di fuoco attive avversarie, determinando punto di origine e di impatto delle traiettorie, consentendo di erogare, in tempo reale, l'eventuale fuoco di risposta. Inoltre, l'impiego di assetti controfuoco consente l'osservazione strumentale del fuoco erogato dalle artiglierie amiche, concorrendo, nel contempo, allo sviluppo dell'attività informativa nell'ambito della sorveglianza del campo di battaglia. In tale contesto, la disponibilità di tali sistemi radar contribuisce alla realizzazione della picture informativa ed alla comprensione generale dell'ambiente operativo. Il primo esemplare è entrato in servizio nel dicembre 2013.

LUCE VERDE

Come noto agli appassionati del settore, di recente sono stati rivelati nuovi dettagli circa il programma Soldato Sicuro che, in realtà, si chiama ufficialmente SIC (Sistema Individuale per il Combattimento) - Soldato Sicuro e costituisce la prosecuzione del SIC (Sistema Individuale per il Combattimento) - Soldato Futuro a sua volta spin-off del Soldato Futuro inserito nell'ambito degli sviluppi paralleli al progetto Forza NEC (in realtà la CD&E, ovvero Concept Development and Experimentation, di Forza NEC). L'Esercito ha formulato agli organi preposti una esigenza complessiva per 68.900 sistemi individuali per circa 1,635 miliardi di €. 

Il progetto “Sistema Soldato Sicuro” viene gestito dall’omonimo consorzio formato da Leonardo (65%), e Beretta, (35%). Il consorzio si occupa della promozione e della commercializzazione di tale sistema. Il primo contratto sottoscritto da questa nuova realtà è stato firmato a dicembre 2019 dal Direttore degli Armamenti Terrestri: si tratta di un accordo, del valore di 532 milioni di € per 9 anni (dal 2019 al 2027); attualmente solo la Fase 1 del programma è stato approvato approvato dagli organi parlamentari. Le commissioni di Camera e Senato hanno di recente dato il via ad un progetto più ampio, del valore di circa 755 milioni di €, che sarà suddiviso in 2 fasi.

From the synergy between the national industry and the Italian Army, the "Sistema Soldato Sicuro" (Safe Soldier System) has been developed, that is a real integrated weapon system with the soldier at the centre, who is guaranteed the best protection, as well as the increase in survival, command and control, night mobility, lethality.  The system allows, through the digitalized C2 devices, the inter-force use of the platform, ensuring maximum operativeness in all scenarios, from combat to population support, always remaining "connected" to the net-centric architecture.

THE INDIVIDUAL TARGETING SYSTEM "MIRA 640".

Initially defined as ICWS (Individual Combat Weapon System), it is the ability to develop 3 devices suitable for the function of designating, aiming and engaging a lens in all visibility conditions (day and night). Therefore, these systems are: daylight optics, red dot aiming system (visible/infrared) and thermal chamber.

THE VESTIARY

The Safe Soldier's clothing consists of several packages that provide adequate protection in different climatic and operational situations. The garments are designed with light, breathable and moisture resistant materials that improve comfort. The garments are distributed in the "basic" version and in the "Flame Resistant" version.

THE PROTECTIVE HELMET 

The ballistic helmet provides protection for the forehead, temporal region, neck and ears.  It also ensures excellent peripheral visibility and wearability over a long period of time.  The bulges in the ear zones, with rounded edges, provide the necessary lateral rigidity and a natural housing for the headset of communication systems.

THE BULLETPROOF VEST

The vest ensures the protection of the soldier and is easily worn over the service and combat uniform. Thanks to the various adjustment options, it ensures freedom of movement and the effective use of individual and department weapons.  In order to allow an easy and quick removal of the artifact in case of first aid and evacuation of the wounded, the vest is equipped with a device that allows quick release and subsequent reassembly.

SDR" RADIO

The SDR HH EVO supplied to the Armed Forces departments is a multi-band radio based on Software Defined Radio technology capable of providing secure voice and data services to meet stringent operational requirements).

THE INDIVIDUAL "TM-NVG" NIGHT VISION SYSTEM

The TM-NVG (Tactical Mobility-Night Vision Goggle) is a high performance Light Intensification (IL) binocular night vision system that allows the mobility of the soldier under extreme operating conditions).

THE ARX 200 cal. 7.62 x 51 NATO BERETTA ARX rifle

The ARX 200 rifle is a new generation gun system that offers high ballistic performance and its use is aimed at experienced shooters. The rifle casing, made of anodized aluminium and overmoulded with technopolymer in the central and rear part, offers characteristics of sturdiness, lightness and ergonomics, aimed at favouring handling and specific shooting positions for long distance use. The weapon is integrated with the STEINER ICS (Innovative Combat Sight) optics which allows the automatic calculation of the point of impact with ballistic compensation according to the distance of the target and the ammunition used.

THE ARX 160 A1 and A3 BERETTA ARX Rifle

The BERETTA ARX 160 A1 and A3 rifle cal. 5.56 mm has been developed as part of a specific modernization program, in order to equip the fighter with a new generation weapon more powerful than the one in service (BERETTA 70/90). The rifle (with polymer structure) is extremely handy, light and compact, completely ambi-right through simple operations that the shooter himself can perform. The telescopic recoil pad, adjustable to four different positions, allows the rifle to be adapted to the needs of each individual operator, while the 4 Picatinny sleds positioned on the barrel guarantee the possibility of easily engaging any day and night aiming apparatus/system (laser, optical, flash light).  As part of the second phase of Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E) of the Forza NEC Program, BERETTA has further developed the ARX 160 assault rifle, making a series of modifications and improvements to the weapon in order to meet the demands of the operators. From this activity was born the A3 version of the rifle.

THE BATTLEFIELD SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM

The "Arthur" (Artillery Hunting Radar) is a system able to guarantee the ability to search, detect and identify enemy active fire sources, determining the point of origin and impact of the trajectories, allowing to deliver, in real time, any response fire. In addition, the use of counter-fire arrangements allows the instrumental observation of the fire provided by friendly artillery, contributing, at the same time, to the development of information activity in the field surveillance of the battlefield. In this context, the availability of such radar systems contributes to the creation of the information picture and to the general understanding of the operational environment. The first example entered into service in December 2013.

GREEN LIGHT

As known to fans of the sector, new details have recently been revealed about the Safe Soldier program which, in reality, is officially called SIC (Sistema Individuale per il Combattimento) - Soldato Sicuro and is the continuation of the SIC (Sistema Individuale per il Combattimento) - Soldato Futuro in turn spin-off of the Soldato Futuro inserted in the context of developments parallel to the Forza NEC project (actually the CD&E, or Concept Development and Experimentation, of Forza NEC). The Army has formulated a total requirement for 68,900 individual systems for a total of approximately € 1.635 billion. 

The "Safe Soldier System" project is managed by the consortium of the same name formed by Leonardo (65%) and Beretta (35%). The consortium is responsible for the promotion and marketing of this system. The first contract signed by this new reality was signed in December 2019 by the Director of Terrestrial Armaments: it is an agreement worth €532 million for 9 years (from 2019 to 2027); currently only Phase 1 of the programme has been approved by the parliamentary bodies. The House and Senate committees have recently launched a larger project, worth about €755 million, which will be divided into 2 phases.
