PISTOLE Beretta “Serie 81”

Le Beretta Serie 81 (Cheetah) sono pistole semiautomatiche compatte con chiusura a massa progettate e costruite dalla Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta Italia. Furono introdotte nel 1976 e includono i modelli in calibro .32 ACP o 7,65mm Browning (modello 81 e 82), in .380 ACP o 9mm corto (modello 84, 85 e 86) e in .22 LR (modello 76,87 bb, 87 Target e 89). Caratteristiche comuni: cane esterno, a doppia azione; rigatura della canna: 6 righe destrorse; fusto in lega leggera; mirino a lama, integrale con il carrello-otturatore; tacca di mira incastrata nel carrello-otturatore; lunghezza linea di mira mm 124.

Varianti:

Base (senza lettere di suffisso) - Versioni iniziali, col ponticello del grilletto arrotondato. La sicura manuale ambidestra blocca il carrello e la catena di scatto, come sul modello 70, permettendo di portare l'arma con il colpo in canna e la sicura inserita dopo aver camerato il colpo ed abbattuto manualmente il cane, sparando il primo colpo in doppia azione ed i successivi in azione singola.
Variante B - Nei modelli 81, 82, 84 e 85 viene introdotta la "sicura automatica al percussore".
Variante BB - Intagli più fitti sul carrello, punti bianchi sulle mire.
Variante F - Viene introdotto il ponticello del grilletto "combat" squadrato e zigrinato. La sicura manuale funziona anche da abbatticane.
Variante FS - Una serie di piccole migliorie interne non rilevabili esteriormente. Ricalcano nelle finiture quelle del modello 92 FS in calibro 9 x 19 mm.

Modelli:

81 e 82 - Questi due modelli furono dotati di camera di scoppio per cartucce .32 ACP. La 81 aveva un caricatore bifilare con una capacità di 12 cartucce, mentre la 82 aveva un caricatore monofilare con una capacità di 9 cartucce, risultando quindi più sottile e maneggevole.
83 84 e 85 - Questi tre modelli sono camerati in .380 ACP (9mm corto). La 84 ha un caricatore bifilare con una capacità di 13 cartucce, mentre 83 e 85 hanno un caricatore monofilare da 8 cartucce, risultando più sottili e quindi più portabili in modo occulto.
La Beretta mod 84BB è stata la mia ultima pistola in dotazione quando ho lasciato il servizio attivo nella Guardia di Finanza; a mio parere era una buona arma: precisa, affidabile e molto maneggevole nel tiro istintivo. Il modello è ancora in dotazione alla Guardia di Finanza (Italia), che ha recentemente distribuito anche il più moderno modello 84F, nonché a numerosi Corpi di Polizia Locale italiani.
Il modello 83 si differenzia per la canna più lunga (102 mm/4 pollici) rispetto ai modelli 84 e 85 (97 mm/3.85 pollici). A partire dai primi anni '90 è stata introdotta come arma di ordinanza del Corpo di Polizia Locale di Milano in circa 2.000 unità per poi essere affiancata, da metà anni 2000, dalla più recente Beretta PX4 Storm. Dal 2002 il modello Beretta 84 FS è divenuta anche l'arma di ordinanza del Corpo di polizia municipale della città di Roma Capitale in circa 4.000 unità.
86 - Nel 1986 la Beretta introdusse il modello 86, calibro 9 corto (.380 ACP), che differisce significativamente dagli altri modelli della serie, perché presenta la canna incernierata davanti al ponticello del grilletto. Questo permette all'operatore di sollevare la canna posteriormente e caricare una sola cartuccia direttamente nella camera di cartuccia nel caso non volesse utilizzare l'apertura dell'otturatore.
Dati tecnici versione 9 mm. corto: Lunghezza 185 mm - Altezza 23mm - Spessore 35 mm - Canna 111 mm, con 6 rigature destrorse - Caricatore monofilare, 8 colpi - Peso 660g - Linea di mira 127 mm.
89 - La Beretta 89 Standard nasce nel 1985 sullo stile della 76, in sua sostituzione ma con una meccanica nuova ed una forma squadrata, che le dona un aspetto poco piacevole ma molto tecnico; è dotata di contrappeso, tacca di mira regolabile, mirino intercambiabile in 3 misure e caricatore da 8 colpi.
87 - Ci sono due distinti modelli della serie 87, entrambi con camera di cartuccia per cartucce.22 LR. Il modello standard (introdotto nel 1986) è simile agli altri modelli, ma il modello 87 Target (introdotto nel 2000, e rappresentato nell'immagine del template principale, a fianco all'incipit) ha una canna e un carrello più lunghi, è dotata di contrappeso, di tacca di mira regolabile ed è solo ad azione singola. Tutti e due i modelli hanno un caricatore contenente 10 cartucce.
La 87 Target è una pistola da tiro dotata di una slitta superiore tipo Weaver che può alloggiare diversi sistemi di puntamento ottici (ottica a punto rosso, lungofocale, eccetera).
Browning BDA 380 - Dal 1977 al 1997 Beretta produsse la Browning BDA 380, in pratica una 84BB con una finestra di espulsione invece del carrello aperto, la sicura/abbatticane montata sull'otturatore e il cane a cresta.

Beretta Serie 81 nella cultura di massa - In ambito cinematografico, la Beretta mod. 81 compare nei film Scarface, Bad Boys (in versione 85BB) e Matrix (in versione 84FS).

Beretta "Series 81" GUNS

The Beretta Series 81 (Cheetah) are semi-automatic compact guns with mass lock designed and built by Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta Italia. They were introduced in 1976 and include models in .32 ACP or 7.65mm Browning caliber (models 81 and 82), in .380 ACP or 9mm short (models 84, 85 and 86) and in .22 LR (models 76.87 bb, 87 Target and 89). Common features: external, double action hammer; barrel rifling: 6 right hand lines; light alloy barrel; blade sights, integral with the slide; rear sight embedded in the slide; sight line length 124 mm.

Variants:

Base (without suffix letters) - Initial versions, with rounded trigger bridge. The ambidextrous manual safety locks the slide and the firing chain, as on the 70 model, allowing the rifle to be carried with the round in the barrel and the safety engaged after chambering the round and manually firing the hammer, firing the first shot in double action and the subsequent shots in single action.
Variant B - In models 81, 82, 84 and 85 the "automatic firing pin safety" is introduced.
Variant BB - Thicker cuts on the carriage, white dots on the sights.
Variant F - The "combat" squared and knurled trigger jumper is introduced. The manual safety also works as a trigger.
FS variant - A series of small internal improvements that cannot be detected from the outside. They are similar to those of the 92 FS model in caliber 9 x 19 mm.

Models:

81 and 82 - These two models were equipped with a combustion chamber for .32 ACP cartridges. The 81 had a two-wire magazine with a capacity of 12 cartridges, while the 82 had a single-wire magazine with a capacity of 9 cartridges, making it thinner and easier to handle.
83 84 and 85 - These three models are chambered in .380 ACP (9mm short). The 84 has a two-wire magazine with a capacity of 13 cartridges, while 83 and 85 have a single-wire magazine with 8 cartridges, resulting thinner and therefore more portable in a concealed way.
The model is still supplied to the Guardia di Finanza (Italy), which has recently distributed also the more modern model 84F, as well as to several Italian Local Police Corps.
The 83 model differs for the longer barrel (102 mm/4 inch) compared to the 84 and 85 models (97 mm/3.85 inch). Since the early '90s it has been introduced as an ordinary weapon of the Local Police Corps of Milan in about 2,000 units and has been joined, since mid 2000, by the more recent Beretta PX4 Storm. Since 2002, the Beretta 84 FS model has also become the official weapon of the Municipal Police Corps of the City of Rome in about 4,000 units.
86 - In 1986 Beretta introduced the model 86, short calibre 9 (.380 ACP), which differs significantly from the other models in the series because it has a hinged barrel in front of the trigger bridge. This allows the operator to lift the barrel at the rear and load a single cartridge directly into the chamber in case he does not want to use the shutter opening.
Technical data version 9 mm. short: Length 185 mm - Height 23 mm - Thickness 35 mm - Barrel 111 mm, with 6 right-hand rifles - Single-wire magazine, 8 rounds - Weight 660g - Aiming line 127 mm.
89 - The Beretta 89 Standard was born in 1985 on the style of the 76, in its replacement but with a new mechanics and a squared shape, that gives it a not very pleasant but very technical aspect; it is equipped with counterweight, adjustable rear sight, interchangeable sight in 3 sizes and 8-shot magazine.
87 - There are two different models of the 87 series, both with cartridge chamber.22 LR. The standard model (introduced in 1986) is similar to the other models, but the 87 Target model (introduced in 2000, and shown in the image of the main template, next to the incipit) has a longer barrel and carriage, is equipped with counterweight, adjustable rear sight and is single action only. Both templates have a magazine containing 10 cartridges.
The 87 Target is a shooting pistol equipped with a Weaver type upper slide that can house different optical aiming systems (red dot optics, long-range optics, etc.).
Browning BDA 380 - From 1977 to 1997 Beretta produced the Browning BDA 380, in practice an 84BB with an ejection window instead of the open slide, the safety/batticane mounted on the bolt and the crest hammer.
