La nuova L.H.D. cinese type 075 classe Yushen ha preso fuoco mentre era in allestimento nel cantiere navale di Hudong-Zhonghua a Shanghai.

La Type 075 (codice NATO classe Yushen) è una nave d'assalto anfibio cinese di nuova generazione e molto più grande di navi simili costruite in precedenza per la Marina Militare cinese PLA e molto simile alle navi d’assalto anfibio elicotteristiche della U.S. Navy classe America.

Secondo le foto e i video pubblicati sui social media, è scoppiato un incendio mentre i saldatori stavano lavorando durante il processo di costruzione. Dal ponte di un ascensore si è notato un evidente e denso pennacchio di fumo nero.

La portaerei d'assalto Type-075 disloca oltre 40.000 ton, è lunga circa 250 m e larga 30.

La classe Yushen è stata progettata per dare alla marina cinese la possibilità di elitrasporto anfibio, per attaccare navi militari, forze di terra o sottomarini ostili. 

Le navi saranno anche in grado di dispiegare mezzi da sbarco e truppe, oltre alle operazioni di comando e controllo di forze anfibie.

La classe Type 075, è una nuova classe di Landing Helicopter Dock (navi d'assalto anfibio) in via di sviluppo per la Marina militare cinese.

Storia

Già a partire dal 2011 fu avviato un programma per un'unità da assalto anfibio portaelicotteri da 40.000 tonnellate. Tale programma denominato Type 075 prevedeva delle grandi unità multiruolo d'assalto anfibio dello stesso tipo delle LHD della classe Wasp della US Navy. La costruzione della prima unità (ancora senza nome e numero identificativo) fu assegnata al CSSC (China State Shipbuilding Corporation), presso il cantiere di Hudong-Zhonghua a (Shanghai). La prima unità è stata costruita in tempi record, infatti é trascorso meno di un anno dal taglio della prima lamiera (fine 2017) al varo, avvenuto il 25 settembre 2019. Una volta completato l'allestimento, si prevede che l'unità debba iniziare le prime prove in mare nella primavera del 2020. Peraltro una seconda unità gemella risulta già in costruzione negli stessi cantieri Hudong-Zhonghua, come confermano immagini satellitari commerciali catturate il 17 agosto 2019. Una volta operativa, la Type 075 andrà a rafforzare sensibilmente le capacità anfibie della Marina Cinese, che prima della costruzione di questa nuova classe di navi si basava esclusivamente su 5 LPD Type 071 classe Yuzhao da 25.000 tonnellate. L'11 aprile 2020, durante i lavori di allestimento, la nave è stata interessata da un incendio a bordo l'11 aprile durante i lavori di allestimento. Le fotografie diffuse dai media hanno mostrato un forte fumo nero che avvolgeva la sovrastruttura dell'isola e fuoriusciva il portellone di poppa della nave. L'incidente è stato confermato dalle autorità, le quali, però, hanno minimizzato l'accaduto dichiarando che l'incendio era stato messo subito sotto controllo ed è stato spento rapidamente.

Caratteristiche

Lunga 250 metri e larga 30, con un dislocamento stimato tra le 36.000 e 40.000 tonnellate a pieno carico, essa è dotata di un bacino allagabile collegato al mare mediante un grande portellone poppiero, dal quale possono essere rilasciati mezzi anfibi e veicoli a cuscino d'aria. L'isola, abbastanza ampia, è dotata di due alberature, mentre non risulta la presenza di antenne radar phased array fisse incorporate nella struttura, del resto non indispensabili a bordo di un'unità anfibia dove non sono presenti importanti sistemi missilistici. Il ponte di volo è collegato all'hangar sottostante da due ascensori, uno più grande sulla destra di fronte all'isola, e uno più piccolo a poppa. La nave dovrebbe essere in grado di ospitare circa 30 tra elicotteri da trasporto e da combattimento, 6/8 hovercraft LCAC Type 726 classe Yuyi (allogiabili nel bacino allagabile) e circa 1200 marines.

Propulsione

L'apparato propulsivo dovrebbe essere diesel, e basato su motori 16PC2-6B con una potenza di 9.000 Kw.

Armamento

L'armamento, esclusivamente difensivo, dovrebbe consistere in due sistemi per la difesa di punto CIWS HPJ-11/Type 730 a 11 canne da 30mm (uno dei due situato a babordo a mezza nave) e da una coppia di sistemi antiaerei a corto raggio per missili HHQ-10 (equivalenti del RIM-116 RAM statunitense), dotati di doppio sistema di guida radar passivo e infrarosso.

The first Chinese Type 075 landing helicopter dock caught fire while in the dock at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai.

The Type 075 (NATO reporting name Yushen-class landing helicopter assault) is a new generation of Chinese amphibious assault vessel and far larger than similar ships previously constructed for the PLA Navy and very similar to the U.S. Navy’s America Class landing helicopter assault ships.

According to released photos and video on social media, a fire broke out as welders were working during the construction process. A thick plume of black smoke was seen from the well deck.

The Type-075 assault carrier is around 895 feet long and 141 feet across.

The Type 075 designed to give the Chinese navy the ability to launch various types of helicopters to attack naval vessels, enemy ground forces or submarines. The vessels will also be able to deploy landing craft and troops, plus house command and control operations.

The Type 075 class, is a new class of Landing Helicopter Dock (amphibious assault ships) under development for the Chinese Navy.

History

As early as 2011, a program for a 40,000-ton amphibious helicopter carrier assault unit was launched. This programme called Type 075 included large multi-purpose amphibious assault units of the same type as the US Navy Wasp-class LHDs. The construction of the first unit (still without name and identification number) was assigned to CSSC (China State Shipbuilding Corporation), at the Hudong-Zhonghua shipyard in Shanghai. The first unit was built in record time, in fact it was less than a year from the cutting of the first sheet metal (end of 2017) to its launch on September 25, 2019. Once the equipment is complete, the unit is expected to start its first sea trials in spring 2020. Moreover, a second sister unit is already under construction at the Hudong-Zhonghua yards, as confirmed by commercial satellite images captured on 17 August 2019. Once operational, the Type 075 will significantly increase the amphibious capacity of the Chinese Navy, which before the construction of this new class of ships was based exclusively on 5 LPD Type 071 Yuzhao class 25,000 tonnes. The ship was affected by a fire on board on 11 April 2020 during outfitting work. Photographs in the media showed strong black smoke enveloping the island's superstructure and escaping the ship's stern hatch. The accident was confirmed by the authorities, but they minimized the incident by declaring that the fire had been put under control immediately and was quickly extinguished.

Features

250 metres long and 30 metres wide, with an estimated displacement of between 36,000 and 40,000 tonnes when fully loaded, it is equipped with a floodable basin connected to the sea by a large aft hatch, from which amphibious and air cushion vehicles can be released. The island, quite large, is equipped with two masts, while there are no fixed phased array radar antennas incorporated in the structure, which are not indispensable on board an amphibious unit where there are no important missile systems. The flight deck is connected to the hangar below by two elevators, a larger one on the right in front of the island, and a smaller one aft. The ship should be able to accommodate about 30 transport and combat helicopters, 6/8 hovercraft LCAC Type 726 class Yuyi (floodable dock) and about 1200 marines.

Propulsion

The propulsion system should be diesel, and based on 16PC2-6B engines with an output of 9,000 Kw.

Armament

The armament, exclusively defensive, should consist of two 11-bore, 30mm, 11-bore, 11-bore, 11mm CIWS point defence systems (one of the two located on the port half-ship) and a pair of short-range anti-aircraft systems for HHQ-10 missiles (equivalent to the US RIM-116 RAM), equipped with dual passive and infrared radar guidance systems.
